What a beautiful world God made and how blessed we are that He gave His only son to die on the cross for our sins. As you watch new life bloom around you, take a moment to thank the Lord for this amazing life and for His gift to you.

Local Photographer Joins National Search for America’s Beautiful Mothers

As part of Beauty Revived, a photography movement, Alicia Hollars is asking for nominations for beautiful mothers in Tyler, Texas to be featured in a national magazine.

The beauty of these women will not be measured by their waist size or flare for fashion. No, these women will be chosen because of their real beauty, their courage and their countenance. The winner will be given a free photo session with A Little Love Photography and a feature in the Mother’s Day issue of Beauty Revived magazine.

Beauty Revived is a movement that celebrates women with real beauty. Photographers donate sessions to these women and their stories are featured in their magazine and website:

Hundreds of photographers applied to be a part of the Beauty Revived 50 Beautiful Mothers campaign and Alicia Hollars of A Little Love Photography was chosen to find a deserving mother to photograph.

“The Beauty Revived campaign symbolizes what I am about in my business. The beauty and love in life. I am so excited to be to take part in this amazing movement.” – Alicia Hollars

Hollars will be accepting nominations from until 1 February 2017 and will then choose one to donate a photography session to include: hair and makeup by Rhena Frounfelker of Rhenas Hairloom and props by Courtney Hallonquist of Perfect Pick’n. The mother chosen will be an example of real beauty and will have shown their beauty by their service when weary, grace in defeat and kindness when tried.

“As mothers, we concentrate so much of our time and energy on everyone else and push ourselves to the side. I want to remind you that you are ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’, you are beautiful and what you do is amazing.” – Alicia Hollars

Beauty Revived was started eighteen months ago as a way for photographers to use their lens for good and shine light on the real beauty that was happening in our communities. In the last year and a half, more than 300 women, girls and children have been featured on their website and magazine.

“As a high school senior photographer, I started Beauty Revived because I saw the power that a photographer has in shaping perception and altering dialogue on beauty,” Michelle Gifford, Beauty Revived founder, said.

“The photographers who participate in our campaigns not only have great technical and artistic talent but also have big hearts and a desire to be more than just a picture taker. They want to be a photographer who changes the world with their work,” Gifford said.

At the beginning of the new year I was invited into a photographers challenge by a fellow photographer, Ashleigh Acker. She was putting together a group for photographers to practice not photography, but videography skills. Once a month we are to produce a 30s-2min video and share it with our group. Now, videography isn’t something I am used to doing by any means, but I was excited to step out into something a little different. Maybe one day I could offer it as an add on! So, once a month I will be sharing a film with all of you. Don’t judge too hard, this is scary territory for me. Lol. But I will be trying some different styles each month to find my own flair.

Without much further ado, Januarys film style is documentary. I shot my three beautiful children, playing at the park and just living another beautiful day in Gods love. Enjoy!

2017… I have high hopes for you. 2016 was a beautiful yet harsh year. We made many leaps of faith and are still in the middle of them. We begin this year in limbo… awaiting our lives to find their path. However, our faith has remained strong, in fact, for me it has grown immensely. My trust in our Father has solidified. I was quite unaware at how little trust I ever felt the need to put in Him before. We have basically always been financially stable and I never had to think about it. Oh, I always thanked Him for our blessings, but without really understanding every one of them. Now, when I pray and thank Him for being able to feed my family, for our health, for a roof over our heads, my eyes tear up. God is truly leading us right now, He is making sure we don’t get lost and keeping our heads above water. I see Gods hand in everything. And I am learning to be patient and trust in His timing.

But, off and on, I have these intense feelings of inadequacy. I miss my life in Hawaii. I miss my amazing, loyal clientele and friends. I miss running a full time business and being an artist. I miss having it all… to be honest, sometimes I wonder who I am if I’m not a photographer? And as I lie here in bed, typing away my thoughts, I realize that I may, in fact, be the only person to read them. After all, no one knows I have a blog, I have no clientele since my move and I’m not sure who cares enough to look.

I have dreams of Josh’s new job as a law enforcement officer, of our new home- wherever it may be that they station us, of my new studio- whenever we move and I can actually advertise and relaunch one. I daydream of these things every single day… then I look at my children, my three blessings from above, fearfully and wonderfully made and I weep. How blessed I am- if I never book another client again, if know one ever knows who I am and if all I end up being remembered  for is being wife and mommy- I can thank God with every fiber of my being… because this family I was entrusted with, they are worth all of me. And if God blesses me with another successful business here in Texas, it will just be the cherry on top. I pray for his blessing. I pray for his guidance, but I realize that His timing is perfect and He may just be teaching me a lesson.

And I am open to learning it.
